This is a Submission for the 2024 GMTK Game Jam with a theme of 'Built to Scale'.  Any feedback is welcome as this is only my second jam and I plan to continue developing this idea.

Welcome to Gravity Riders!

The goal is simple.  Get home in time.

The computer cannot control the ship within gravity interference zones due to extreme Time Dilation.  So you must manually control the ship and pilot it home.
Use nearby sources of gravity to increase your velocity.

Your ship can also harness fuel from these sources.

This time dilation is represented through scale in multiple ways, so use it to your advantage, and gather more fuel from the gravity sources along the way.

This was built for the GMTK Game Jam 2024, and is more of a proof of concept than a full game at the moment.  All of the movement is done Kinematically in order to better control the velocity and scale, so I still need time to figure out a few of the features. The true benefit of using scale to represent time dilation like this will shine in a multiplayer setting I believe.

More to come!

And Thank You For Playing

oh boy, it was close;

very addictive and distressing; it took about 3 times for me to find myself between fuel, distance and time to get there

didnt find any bug, just some flickering in the background sometimes

Yeah, I unfortunately didn't have time for a tutorial, but I'm glad it's completable!  Thank you for playing and for the perfect little track.

yes, these games involving physics are pretty addctive; A multiplayer mode would be insane
